Creamy Frosting
cjRecipes.com2-3/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 teaspoons water
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
2 teaspoons vanilla
Combine powdered sugar, salt and egg.
Boil water and white sugar together for 1 minute, then blend with sugar and egg mixture.
Add Crisco and vanilla.
Beat until creamy.
VARIATIONS:
Coffee- 2 teaspoons instant.
Lemon- replace water with lemon juice and 1 teaspoon lemon rind (grated) for vanilla
Orange- same as lemon but use orange.
Chocolate- 2 squares melted chocolate
Mocha- 2 teaspoons instant coffee and 2 teaspoons cocoa
Hawaiian cream- replace water with pineapple juice; omit vanilla and add
3/4 cup flake coconut.
