2 cups milk
2 Tablespoons lard
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 packages dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups flour

In saucepan, heat 2 cups milk to steam stage.
Set aside to cool to warm temperature.
Add lard, sugar and salt.
While above is cooling, put dry yeast in warm water with sugar.
Let this dissolve.
When milk mixture is just warm, add yeast.
Stir well. Add flour. Stir well.
Let set in warm place till all becomes bubbly.
Continue adding flour till it becomes like a ball.
Put on floured surface and knead in enough flour that none will stick to your hands.
Put in greased bowl to rise to double size.
Cover and put in warm place.
Punch down once. This releases some of the air.
When rises again, form into loaves.
Grease pans. Let rise again.
Bake in 350 degree oven about 1/2 hour (depending on size of loaves).
