1-1/2 pounds chicken wings (about 12)
1 medium-size onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
5 cups water
1 can (1 pound) stewed tomatoes
2 tablespoons bottled steak sauce (your preference)
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
3-1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound ground beef
2 cans (1 pound each) mixed vegetables
1 small head cabbage (about 1 pound), shredded
2 cups instant mashed potato flakes
1/4 cup chopped parsley
 
1.Cut apart chicken wings at joints with a sharp knife. Combine with onion, water, tomatoes, steak sauce, cayenne and 3 teaspoons of the salt in a large heavy kettle or Dutch oven. Heat to boiling; reduce heat; cover. Simmer 30 minutes.

2. Mix ground beef lightly with remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt; shape into 18 little meatballs.

3. Add mixed vegetables and cabbage to chicken mixture; bring to boil; add meatballs; reduce heat;cover. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir in potato flakes. Remove from heat.

4. Sprinkle with parsley. Spoon into soup bowls. Serve with hot corn bread, if you wish.
