Oven-Grilled Cheddar Steak
cjRecipes.com1 chuck beef steak, weighing about 3-1/2 pounds
Instant unseasoned meat tenderizer
3 Tablespoons bottled steak sauce
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1. Remove steak from refrigerator 1 hour before cooking. When ready to cook, sprinkle with meat tenderizer, following the label directions; brush both sides with steak sauce; place on rack in broiler pan placed close to heat source.
2. Bake in very hot oven (450 degrees) 25 minutes for rare,or until done as you like steak;remove from oven; turn off heat.
3. Sprinkle pecans, then cheese over steak; return to heated oven just until cheese melts.
4. Carve into 1/4 inch thick slices; spoon juices over.
Makes 6 servings.
