Rocky Road Brownies

1 6-ounce package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate pieces
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup butter OR margarine
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup tiny marshmallows

1. In a heavy small saucepan heat and stir 1/2 cup of the chocolate pieces over low heat till melted. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Meanwhile, stir together flour and baking powder.

2. In a small mixer bowl beat butter OR margarine till softened. Add sugar and beat till well combined. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Beat in melted chocolate. Add flour mixture and beat till well mixed. Spread in a greased 9×9x2-inch baking pan.

3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. On baked base, layer remaining chocolate pieces, nuts, and marshmallows. Bake 5 to 10 minutes more or till marshmallows are golden. Cool. Cut into bars.
