Sweet Onion Pie

Pastry for 9-inch pie
3 cups sliced or cubed Vidalia onions
3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2 eggs
1/2 cup evaporated milk, undiluted
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Make pastry and line 9-inch pie plate.
Saute sweet onions in butter or margarine until tender, arrange on pastry.
Beat eggs slightly; add cream, salt and pepper.
Pour mixture over onions.
Bake at 425 degrees for 18-20 minutes, or until metal knife inserted in center comes out clean and
pie is well browned.

Makes 4-6 servings.
