Walnut Pie

1/2 cup butter or margarine, at room temperature
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
4 eggs, lightly beaten
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 unbaked eight-inch or nine-inch pie shell
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
 
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. Cream together the butter or margarine and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Blend in the syrup. Beat in the eggs.

3. Add the salt and vanilla to the mixture and pour into the pie shell. Sprinkle walnuts over the top.

4. Bake 40 minutes, or until filling is firm.
