Yorkshire Sausages

1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Put 1/2 pound link sausages in a baking dish.
Cook in hot oven (475 degrees) for 15 minutes.
While sausages are baking make a Yorkshire pudding batter.
Beat 1 egg very lightly.
Add milk, flour and salt.
Beat mixture for 2 minutes with beater.
Pour off all but a half-inch layer of sausage fat in the baking dish.
Quickly pour the batter into the hot dish over the sausages.
Return immediately to the oven.
Lower heat in oven to 450 degrees.
Bake mixture in oven for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat again to 350 degrees and continue baking for additional 20-25 minutes.
The pudding should be puffed and crisp. The sausages should be brown.
Serves three.
